Who is The Arc?

The Arc, Upper Valley is a membership organization made up of people with cognitive, intellectual and developmental disabilities; their families, interested citizens, and professionals in the disability field. Together, they from approximately 1,000 state and local chapters of The Arc and the largest volunteer organization in the United States devoted solely to working on behalf of people with cognitive, intellectual and developmental disabilites and their families.

Mission Statement

To work in partnership with our constituents, members and affiliated chapters to ensure that children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities have the supports, benefits, and services they need, and are accepted, respected and fully included in their communities.

Service Area

Grand Forks County and surrounding area.

Primary Objectives

Advocating with governmental and other organizations to improve
existing services.

Acting as a catalyst to start new services.

Conducting our own service programs.
