Who is The Arc?

The Arc, Upper Valley is a membership organization made up of people with cognitive, intellectual and developmental disabilities; their families, interested citizens, and professionals in the disability field. Together, they from approximately 1,000 state and local chapters of The Arc and the largest volunteer organization in the United States devoted solely to working on behalf of people with cognitive, intellectual and developmental disabilites and their families.

Mission Statement

The Arc, Upper Valley promotes and protects the human rights of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and actively supports their full inclusion and participation in the community throughout their lifetimes.

Service Area

Grand Forks County in North Dakota and surrounding area.

Primary Objectives

Advocating with governmental and other organizations to improve
existing services.

Acting as a catalyst to start new services.

Conducting our own service programs.
