The Arc, Upper Valley fulfills its mission with the help of dedicated volunteers by offering numerous opportunities for volunteers to use their unique talents and skills to serve in a manner that suits them best.

Family Support and Education Committee

Chair - Open

Plans family support and education activities for Family Forum Education Series, Sibshops, Mom’s Group and Family Support Conference.

Governmental Affairs Committee

Chair - Open

Works to influence the development and implementation of public policies that affect the lives of people with intellectual, cognitive, and related developmental disabilities and their families.

Legal Advocacy Committee

Chair - Open

Works to identify the most pressing advocacy issues for people with intellectual, cognitive, and related developmental disabilities and their families, develops strategies to address issues, and serves as a catalyst for precipitating change.

Buddy Walk Committee

Chair - Open

Organizes the annual Buddy Walk to increase awareness of the abilities of people with Down syndrome and raise money for education, advocacy and research..

Mom’s Group

Volunteers mentor moms with developmental disabilities and their children.  Moms group is typically held two Wednesdays a month from 9:00 - 11:00 a.m.

The Arc Thrift Stores

Volunteers are needed to assist customers, sort and price merchandise, create displays, organize the sales floor, and clean and repair toys. Opportunities are available at thrift store locations in Grand Forks and Devils Lake.
