The Arc, Upper Valley fulfills its mission with the help of dedicated volunteers by offering numerous opportunities for volunteers to use their unique talents and skills to serve in a manner that suits them best.

Plans strategies for educating health care professionals and the general public about the harmful use of the “R” word.

Inter-Agency Picnic - June

Volunteers are needed to cook and serve food and beverages, distribute door prizes and clean up after the event.

The Arc Angel Project - October - December

Volunteers help raise money, shop for and wrap Christmas gifts for residents of the Developmental Center at Grafton, ND.

The Boo Bash (Devils Lake) - October

Volunteers solicit door prizes, cook and serve food and distribute door prizes during this Halloween Costume Ball for teen and adult consumers in the Devils Lake area.

The Boo Bash (Grand Forks) - October

Volunteers solicit door prizes, cook and serve food and distribute door prizes during this Halloween event for school-age children and their families in the Grand Forks area.

Car Wash Fundraiser - Spring

Volunteers to sell car washes during the event and wipe down cars as they exit the car wash.

Pancake Breakfast - proposed event

Volunteers to help plan a pancake breakfast fundraiser and cook, serve and clean up after the event.

Speaker’s Bureau

Volunteers give presentations about intellectual and related disabilities to civic, community, public schools, universities and church groups. Family members, students (ages 14 - 21) with an intellectual or related disabilitiy, self-advocates and professionals in the field of disability are encouraged to sign up and help increase public awareness.

The Arc Thrift Stores

Volunteers assist customers, sort and price merchandise, create displays, organize sales floor, clean and repair toys, paint and make general repairs.  Flexible hours!

Office Help

Volunteers help with folding, stuffing and mailing; photocopying and miscellaneous office duties.
